We finally got to go to the baby home today. He was happier then ever. It is so nice to see a personality coming through. There is nothing like having him running from his room to Mama and Papa. We played outside with his group today. There were so many kids! All of them wanted attention and it was so hard to see them all. I wonder if they know that we are here to take Max and what they will think when he is not there anymore. There was one little girl that just wanted someone to hug her. She was so sad. She followed me around most of the time we were there. I hope that one day all of these kids find a home however the reality is that they won't. It's not fair. Maybe people like Paris Hilton can spend 45 days in Artyom baby home and soak up a little reality.
On to other news. More CHI families have joined us (and Chad and Jenena!) A couple from St. Louis on their first trip and the FLEMMINGS!!! Hooray - Jim and Adriene Flemming (our friends from Nashville) made it. They have court to pick up their little cutie Owen on Friday. We were so happy to see them.
We all went to a real Chinese restaurant for lunch yesterday. It was a good experience- however there was a cat in the restaurant walking around (for now) It was good to all finally be together. I am posting a picture of the bill only because Cliff found it funny to take a picture of the bill.
We upgraded to a suite. We have a kitchen so we decided to venture out to the grocery store. Jenena and I decided that we could have won some money if we had our video cameras- We were walking around the store and saw Cliff and Chad at the meat counter making animal sounds to the two ladies behind the counter. YES!!! It was hilarious! The ladies were making sounds back at them. We walked over to see what in the world was going on and they said that they wanted ham and chicken and this is how the ladies understood. I am betting that we have goat!
Yesterday we went to the Soviet WWII memorial and the Soviet submarine. Cliff said that he felt like he was in Hunt for Red October. The memorial was pretty moving.

that is hysterical about the meat!! i love, love your stories! that's great you could get a suite...you will appreciate that SOOO much when you have max with you! we didn't even have a microwave. love the pics.

Max is looking happier in each picture. It, indeed, is sad that many of these children will not be adopted. If Ted & I were younger, we'd definitely adopt.
